ELECTRODE ARM

FOR ELECTRIC ARC FURNACES

WEST METAL Company is the pioneer in Iran for the design and manufacture of electrode arms for electric arc furnaces (EAF) and ladle furnaces. The company produces electrode arms for furnaces of various capacities, accommodating electrode diameters ranging from 350 to 700 mm. These arms are designed and manufactured in two primary configurations—busbar-type and power-conductive—utilizing copper-clad plates. Sourced from top-tier European manufacturers, these composite plates consist of steel and copper with a maximum thickness of 35 mm; this material combines the superior electrical conductivity of copper with the mechanical strength of steel.

Electrode holder arms are manufactured in two primary types: busbar-based and "power-conductive."

In the busbar type, electric current is transmitted to the graphite electrode via a copper busbar; the advantage of this design lies in the ease of repair and troubleshooting.
The power-conductive type utilizes copper-clad plates. Produced by leading European manufacturers, these plates consist of a composite of steel and copper with a maximum thickness of 35 mm. This material combines the excellent electrical conductivity of copper with the mechanical strength of steel.

Leveraging state-of-the-art manufacturing methods and expertise in the design of such components, WEST METAL Company is capable of producing a wide range of electrode arms with varying capacities. The electrode arms manufactured by the company are currently in operation at the Mobarakeh Steel Complex in Isfahan (Tenova-design conductive electrode arms) and at Khuzestan Steel (Danieli-design electrode arms for electric arc and ladle furnaces).
